Bonnie Hartford Price

Bonnie Hartford Price passed away peacefully on May 6, 2013 at Carolina Medical Center surrounded by family and friends.  Born May 13, 1937 in Douglas, Wyoming, Bonnie grew up in Alameda, California.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Fred R. Price, daughters: Tanya Price, Toni Price Humphries and husband Eric, Tracy Price and life-partner Cindy Rochester, grandchildren:  Michael Foster, Sarah, Shelby, Maggie and Joshua Rochester and great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Konstantin and Lorelei Foster.  She was preceded in death by her parents Chuck and Laura Hartford.  Bonnie loved nature and saw the beauty of the world through the eyes of a true artist.  She had a passion for art and was gifted in all visual medium.  She was especially accomplished with pottery, sculpting and book making and binding.  She was a founding member of the Southern Arts Society, Inc. of Kings Mountain and won numerous awards for her art, including many best in shows.  Her creative works have been displayed throughout the region in a variety of venues.  Bonnie was an avid reader with an unquenchable desire to know and understand the world.  Her sweet smile, laughter, knowledge and wisdom were gifts she lovingly gave to her family and friends.  There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Hoey Memorial United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 9 at 2:00 p.m.  Visitation will follow the service.  Memorials may be made to Hoey Memorial United Methodist Church, 100 Hidden Cove Road, Shelby, N.C. 28152.
