Boyd Ham

Boyd Ham, 92, of 126 Ninety-nine Island Road, passed away on Thursday, November 10th, 2022, at his residence.

Born in Smyrna, SC, he was the widower of Thelma Parker Ham and the son of the late Forest Furman Ham and Sally Bolin Ham. Mr. Ham formerly worked in textiles and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. He was a charter member of CKC Volunteer Fire Department and served for 45 years. He coached Little League Baseball for a number of years and was also a Boy Scout leader. He was a US Army veteran and served in Korea.

Surviving Mr. Ham are his son, Jamie Ham and wife, Summer; his daughters, Cindy Bisby and husband, Bobby, and Rita Copeland and husband, Alex); 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ham was preceded in death by his sons, Leroy Ham, Travis Ham, and Lamar Ham; his grandson, Adam Stroup; his brothers, Lawrence Ham, O.D. Ham, and his twin brother, Lloyd Ham; and his sister, Sue Blackmon.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC. Funeral services will be held on November 13, 2022, at 3:00 pm at Hopewell Baptist Church, 511 Old Chester Road, Blacksburg, SC, with Rev. Eddie Bolin officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Members of CKC Volunteer Fire Department will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CKC Volunteer Fire Department, 984 Old Chester Road, Blacksburg, SC 29702.

The family will be at the residence.
