Brandon Dion Vaughn, 40, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House, following a courageous three-year battle with glioblastoma.

Brandon was born on July 20, 1985, in Kings Mountain, North Carolina to Lisa Vaughn and the late Scott Byers.

Brandon was preceded in death by his father, Scott Byers; his maternal grandfather, Era Vaughn, Sr.; his paternal grandfather, Leonard Feemster; his paternal grandmother, Mary Lee Byers; and his uncles, Michael Byers and Leonard Byers.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Lisa Vaughn; his bonus mother, Monica Byers; his maternal grandmother, Ida Vaughn; his maternal grandfather, Teddy Arrington; and his paternal grandparents, Ronnie and Gladys Byers. He is also survived by his beloved siblings: Devian Vaughn (Drew), Jessica Ward Cannon (DeAndre), Nicholas Byers (Catherine), Tre Byers (Sydney), and Roman Byers (Dalia Wilson).

Brandon is further s survived by his maternal uncles: Era VaughnJr. (Wendy), Anthony Arrington (Donzaleigh), William Vaughn (Jen), and Talmadge Arrington (Stephanie); and his paternal aunts and uncles: Barbara Davis (Ernest), Doug Byers, Denorris Byers (Miriam), Gerald Byers, Anthony Byers, Francis Byers (Calvin), and Yvonne Byers. He is lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Chloe Wilson, Roman Byers Jr., Trevarus Byers Jr., Remy Byers, and Dreux Shanelle McMurray. He also leaves behind a host of loving cousins and dear friends who were like family.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Shelby, NC.
