Bruce Palmer Walker, age 82, died Thursday July 18, 2013 at his home. Born in Cleveland County on December 8, 1930 he was the son of the late Merlin Hasque and Mary Sue McBrayer Walker. Bruce was a member of the Camps Creek Baptist Church in Mooresboro (No. 1 Township). He retired after 38 years from Overnight Transportation and was the owner of Rose Creek Family Campground in Morganton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Lucille Bridges Walker; a son, Joseph “Joey” Walker; a granddaughter, Amy Walker; two brothers and one sister.

Mr. Walker is survived by a daughter, Debbie Clark and husband Steve of Morganton; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Walker; five grandchildren, Tracy Humphries, Wendy Greene, Jennifer Ruppe, Haley Padgett, and Jim Walker; and fourteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday July 22, 2013 at 5:00pm at Camps Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Buddy Morehead officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:30pm until 4:30pm in the sanctuary before the service, and other times at the home on 202 Worthington Street.
