Bryan "Bud" Allen Poston, age 90 died Saturday March 28, 2015 at Hospice Wendover. Born in Cleveland County on November 6, 1924 he was the son of the late Bryan Pinkney and Flora Allen Poston. Bud was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church. Bud worked for Colon Hamrick Construction as a brick mason for a number of years before retiring. Bud Served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. . He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Bud enjoyed doing yard work and being outdoors. In addition to his parents, Bud is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Kathleen Whisnant Poston, and a sister, Katherine Givens.

Bud is survived by ; three daughters, Linda Patterson and husband Jim of Shelby, Evelyn Johnson and husband Tom of Leland, and Alice Cochran and husband Chris of Pawleys Island; two sisters, Ruth Hamrick and Pansy Carpenter and husband Wade all of Shelby; four grandchildren, Eric Patterson and wife Christy, Stacy Johnson Elvington and husband Matt, Jon Cochran and wife April, and Matt Cochran; and five great grandchildren, Alex, Collin, and Georgia Patterson, and Rynley and Hadley Elvington.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Elizabeth Baptist Church with Dr. Rit Varriale and Rev. Clinton Padgett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 until 2:00 in the church sanctuary.
