Bryce Alexander Barbee
Bryce Alexander Barbee, 2, of Shelby, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.  A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of Geromy Tad and Jessica Lee Tijerina Barbee.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Gerald Bennett and Kathy Carlene Barbee.  He was a member of Putnam Baptist Church.

Bryce enjoyed being read to, loved Thomas the train and playdough.  He loved to play with his Bubbie and Sissie.  His greatest aspiration was to be a football player.  He lit up a room when he entered, was full of fight – a little warrior.  He loved the Lord.  His mommy and daddy were truly blessed if only for a little while as he not only changed their lives but the lives of many by just being there.

Other than his parents Bryce is survived by his brother and sister, Knox Bennett Barbee and Alyssa Morgan Barbee; his grandparents, Pam and Sandy Allen of Shelby and Alexander and Chong Un Tijerina of California; his aunts, Tess B. Cooper, Monick Tijerina, Jennifer Blanton, Jena Allen and Haley Greene; his uncles, Scott G. Barbee, Skip Allen, Wesley Greene, Jarrett Blanton, Tony Cooper.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Putnam Baptist Church in Shelby.  Burial will follow in the Sunset Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday, April 4, 2011 from 6:00 – 7:30pm at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home.  At other times the family will be at the home of Tad and Jessica Barbee, 400 Farmhurst Place in Shelby.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Cardiac Department of the Children’s Hospital in Boston, 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston Ma, 02115 or Jack’s Heart Fund, 4305 W. 94th Street, Prairie Village, KS 66207.
