Buford Weyland Phillips

Gaffney -- Buford Weyland Phillips, 70, of 813 9th Street, passed away Sunday, October 2nd, 2016, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Penny Phillips and the son of the late Bill Phillips and Bertha Spencer Phillips Duckett. Mr. Phillips retired from the SCDOT and was a member of Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Phillips is survived by two step-daughters, Judith Eubanks Turner and husband, Bobby, of Trenton, SC and Kathy Eubanks Simpson and husband, James M., of Gaffney; a brother, Belton Phillips, of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Candy Adams, Sirena Ahlers, Trevor Turner, James T. Simpson, and Jennifer R. Simpson; and eleven great-grandchildren, Erica Barton, Kaylan and Evan Windsor, Fitzwilliam, RenaMargaux, and Frederick Ahlers, Bennett Turner, Lyric and Wayne Goode, and Jacob and Maxwell Simpson.

Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dianne Phillips.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 4th, 2016, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 5th, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Lucky Earls officiating.

The family will be at the residence.
