Bumber Broadus "Buzz" Biggerstaff

Bumber Broadus "Buzz" Biggerstaff died May 3, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare System Cleveland surrounded by loving family and friends.
He was born December 5, 1937, the son of Broadus Biggerstaff and Kate Goode Biggerstaff, he was preceded in death by his son, Alan Scott Biggerstaff, four brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Beth Tarleton Biggerstaff; daughters, Leigh Biggerstaff Russell, Kathy Biggerstaff, Jill Biggerstaff Powell, Kate Biggerstaff Wall and her husband, Chad. There are nine grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; Ashley Biggerstaff Blanton and husband Mitchell , Elijah Biggerstaff, Gabriel Biggerstaff, Joey Bridges, Chris Bridges, Adam Powell, Isaac Powell, Malarie Wall, Micajah Wall, Bailey Bridges, Zoe Blanton, Sylas Blanton, and Kaden Biggerstaff.

He was a faithful member of Boiling Springs United Methodist Church, where he served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for many years. He was active in his community and was former Chief of the Boiling Springs Volunteer Fire Department, member of Cliffside Historical Society, Cliffside Cemetery Project, and former Chairman of the Camp Loy White Committee.

He graduated from Cliffside High School and Wofford College, and retired from a long career with Cone Mills Corporation in Cliffside, North Carolina.

He loved God, his church, his family, his many friends, former classmates, playing golf, camping and working in his yard.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Boiling Springs Baptist Church, Friday May 6 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Teresa Blanton officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County or Boiling Springs United Methodist Church.
