Bynum Parker
Bynum Parker, age 89, of Ellenboro, died Friday, September 2, 2016 at Henderson Care.
Born January 23, 1927 in Cleveland County, he was a son to the late Charlie Albert Parker. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served during World War II. Bynum worked in the textile industry most of his life and was a Baptist. He enjoyed working on cars, motorcycles and mowers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Coleen Parker and a grandson, Darrell Moore.
Survivors include three sons, Albert Lee Parker and wife, Darlene of Ellenboro, James Maynard Parker of Mooresboro and Ralph William Parker of Ellenboro; one sister, Lillian Gregg of Lake Norman, NC. He is also survived by five grandchildren, William Brian Parker, Shannon Lee Parker, Alicia Parker, Kellie Parker, Jermey Parker and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Rehobeth United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lattimore with Reverend Lanny J. Funchess officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends after the graveside service at the cemetery. At other times they will be gathered at 604 Boss Moore Road.
