Mrs. Callie Whitener Wright, 89, of 226 Eastwood Village Drive, Bostic, NC, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010. Services were held at Bethel Baptist Church, Ellenboro, NC. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Armond Laudy Whitener; her 2nd husband, June Wright; and her parents, Claude and Vassie Cook Waters.
She is survived by 2 sons, Dan Whitener and wife Carol of Baltimore; and Gary Whitener and wife Dena of Daytona Beach, Florida; 1 daughter, Anita Costner and husband Dale of Lawndale, NC; 2 brothers, Claude Waters, Jr. and wife Janie of Charlotte, NC, and Bill Waters and wife Virginia of Chattanooga, Tenn.; 2 sisters, Joyce McFarland of Ellenboro, NC and Gay Bostic and husband, Bert of Laurinburg, NC; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
