Carl Glenn Bell

Blacksburg -- Carl Glenn Bell, 79, of 157 North Cherokee Ford Road Ext., surrounded by his family after a long battle with Alzheimer's, answered God's call on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at his residence.

Born in Hickory Grove, he was the husband of Rebecca Bolin Bell and the son of the late Lester and Addie Martin Bell. Mr. Bell retired from Duke Energy and attended Hickory Grove Church of God.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Bell is survived by two sons, Chris Bell and wife, Dara, of Greenwood and Timothy Bell of Grover; one daughter, Lynn Bell Swink and husband, Jeff, of Blacksburg; two grandchildren, David Bell of Lake Wylie and Amber Bell of the home; two brothers, Dean Bell and wife, Matril, of Blacksburg and Buddy Bell and wife, Aileen, of Blacksburg; and two sisters, Peggy Carr and husband, George, of Hickory Grove, and Margaret Pursley and husband, Sonny, of Hickory Grove.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bell was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Wright, Hazel Walker, and Louise Cummings.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 13th, 2016, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 14th, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Hickory Grove Church of God with Rev. Mike Goodwin, Rev. Josh Henderson, and Mr. Jeff Swink officiating. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. David Bell, George Carr, Buddy Bell, Bruce Cook, Donald Self, and Kenneth Bolin will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at the residence.
