LAWNDALE - Rev. Carl Joseph Sparks, Jr., age 57, peacefully answered the call of his Lord and Savior on December 21, 2015. He is predeceased by his parents, Carl Sr. and Louise Irvin Sparks; a sister, Cathy Allison; a daughter, Michelle Sparks.
He is survived by his wife, Regina Sparks of the home; one son, Paul Sparks and wife, Jennifer of Shelby; one daughter, Katie Sparks of the home; two sisters, Helen Prescott and Peggy Burgess; one brother, John sparks; three grandchildren, Brooke Sparks, Melissa Sparks and Elizabeth Williams; special nieces, nephews and friends.
Rev. Joe was a Preacher, Sunday School Teacher and a Deacon at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Shelby. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is very loved and will be missed by all of those that knew him.
A Celebration of Rev. Joe's life will be held at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 2305 Kingston Rd., Shelby, NC 28150, on Sunday, December 27, 2015 with visitation from 2PM to 3PM and the service immediately following at the Church with the Rev. Scott Holland and Rev. Marie Irvin officiating.
