Carnell Manning

Carnell Manning, 88, of 378 Whites Farm Road, passed away on Thursday, February 15th, 2024, at Cherokee Medical Center.

Born in Clover, SC, he was the widower of Lillian Starnes Manning, and son of the late Fulton and Stella Mullinax Manning. Carnell retired from Hoechst Celenase and was a member and former deacon of Mt. Paran Baptist Church. He was also a 14-year veteran, serving in Korea and Vietnam.

Surviving Mr. Manning are three sons, Dennis Manning (Tammy), Keith Manning (Amy), and Scott Manning; two daughters, Tammy Burgess and Cindy Wilson; two sisters, Virginia Starnes and Mary Pendergrass; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Manning was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Manning; one daughter, Frances Hughey; sister, Ruth Hess; brother, Vnard Manning; one granddaughter, Tena Abernathy;

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 19th, 2024, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Mt. Paran Baptist Church, 105 Mt. Paran Road, Blacksburg, SC with Rev. Nathan Price, Rev. Gregg Martin, and Rev. Tom Moore officiating. Entombment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the residence.
