"I know the price of success: dedication, hard work and an unremitting devotion to the things you want to see happen."
--Frank Lloyd Wright

Musicians have a special medium for which they display their success.  Unlike the chef, whose product one can taste and smell or unlike the artist, whose product one can see and feel, musicians have a performance.  There will be a concert of mass proportions this Saturday night at 6:30pm on March 31st.  At Kings Mountain High School's Barnes Auditorium, the Cleveland County Elementary Honors Chorus will hold its annual concert.  These 4th and 5th grade students have dedicated themselves beyond the school walls, taking home sheet music and CD's with which to learn and rehearse.  Every week, these singers have practiced diligently with their teachers, who have also devoted many hours to perfecting and polishing the songs that will be the 'final product.'

The human voice can stir emotions from deep within the soul.  Tone, pitch, timing, and an immense focus of the mind will be displayed as the Elementary Honors Chorus sing a selection of seven songs including traditional folk music, a piece in a different language (Latin), and The National Anthem, to name a few.
The Elementary Honors Chorus will sing an original song entitled, "Carolina," composed and conducted by yours truly.  I cannot contain the sheer excitement that the BEST little singers in this county will sing a song that is my personal tribute to this wonderful state.  The plan for "Carolina" is to record it and distribute it on iTunes to fund a program that will support music in Cleveland County.

Calling all students songwriters, musicians and singers!  We are looking for submissions to be showcased in our Cleveland County Artists feature:
