“Only 1 Noah”
The Owl’s Eye Vineyard is tucked away off Metcalf Road in Shelby featuring a variety of wines made on site as well as live music, friendly staff, and an enchanting environment. On Saturday, July 28th, this venue will host a concert featuring Cleveland County’s own, Jaron Strom, and internet sensation, Noah Guthrie.
South Carolina native, Noah Guthrie is no stranger to online stardom. This musician got his start from posting video performances of popular songs on YouTube that led to overnight success. A cover song is a song that was written by or performed by an artist other than oneself. Covers are necessary in a performing musician’s repertoire because they are songs that people can recognize.
Noah has been around music all his life. With two parents as studio singers, he became aware of how music was created at a young age. By 14, he began writing his own songs. Noah explains, “Performing came along with it and then I fell in love with being on stage and sharing my music. I've doing ever since.”
In less than two months, Noah’s cover of hit song “Sexy and I know It” by LMFAO has racked up over 11 MILLION views on YouTube. Over 20,00 Twitter fans and over 670,000 Facebook fans have steadily increased since Noah’s television appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and his performance with Selena Gomez at a UNICEF concert.
When asked about some words of wisdom from Guthrie he states, “Some advice I would give to aspiring musicians would be to play as much as you can, where ever you can because you really never know who is listening.”
