This is the time of year that gentle breezes tease us with hopes of autumn weather and the sounds of baseball and fireworks bring an eagar crowd to Cleveland County.  This is the perfect time of year for Elliot Family Farm’s Clearview Mountain Festival. The success of last year’s first annual festival has brought more attention to Upper Cleveland County’s favorite outdoor venue. Now with an addition day of music for festival patrons on Thursday, there will be over 40 performances! Come check out one of Cleveland County’s newest country rock bands, The Deyton Floyd Band, will perform on the Campground Stage at 12:30pm Saturday. Sam Deyton and Adam Floyd share an affinity for entertaining audiences, playing guitar, and singing in harmony together. After their performance at the Don Gibson Theatre’s Songwriting Contest, they decided to form a band. A wise choice was made to ask one of the best drummers around, Jason “J-Bird” Hamrick, to join along with his bass playing associate and long time friend, Dave Edwards. I was then asked to enhance this quartet by adding various melodies on guitar, lap steel, or banjo. Together, we have a rocking sound reminiscent of a cross between Florida Georgia Line and Crossfade with a focus on original material. You don’t want to miss the biggest musical weekend of the year. With some great acts like Harvest Tunes from Kings Mountain and L-Shaped Lot from Wilmington, North Carolina music at it’s best will wrap up another fun filled month of August in Cleveland County. YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS IT!

Calling all students songwriters, musicians and singers!  We are looking for submissions to be showcased in our Cleveland County Artists feature:
