Carolyn Buchanan Goforth, age 62, loving wife, mother, and grandmother of 222 Windsor Drive, died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at her home. A native of Shelby, she was born February 28, 1948, the daughter of the late Harry and Myrtle Buchanan. Besides her parents, she was preceeded in death by her step father Bob Hughes.
She is survived by Steve Goforth, her husband; three sons, Sam Goforth wife Julie, Scott Goforth wife Tamara; and Craig Goforth wife Holli all of Shelby. She is survived by six grandchildren: Hannah Goforth, Samuel Goforth, Meredith Goforth, Connor Goforth, Gavin Goforth, and Jon Goforth; her brother Bobby Buchanan wife Susan of Shelby and her sister Robyn Gouge husband Jody of Mt. Pleasant SC.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory on Thursday, February 3, 2011.
Funeral: The funeral will be at Aldersgate United Methodist Church at 11:00 am on Friday, February 4, 2011.
Burial: The burial will immediately follow the service at Beulah United Methodist Church.
