Carolyn Elmore, 84, of 110 Brackett Rd, Lawndale, joined the heavenly choir
on Friday, September 2, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.
She was born on October 12, 1926 to the late Forrest and Carrie Bowen. She
was a homemaker and a faithful member of Kistler's United Methodist Church
where she served as choir director for many years. She loved her Lord, her
Church, her family and her music. She enjoyed singing in many area
churches, choirs, and musicals.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her four brothers
and sister-in-laws, L.G. and Kathryn Bowen, Joe Bowen, Forrest and Margaret
Bowen, Jr., and Bill Bowen; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth (Lib) and
Banks Miller, Sr.; and two brothers-in-law, Bill Elmore and Don Elmore.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jack Elmore, two sons and
daughter-in-law, Larry Elmore of Lawndale and Dr. Tim and Susan Elmore of
Spruce Pine, NC; five sisters-in-law, Betty Edwards and husband Bob, Annie
Katherine Bowen, Joanne Bowen, Bobbie Jane Elmore, and Beryl Elmore; and
many nieces and nephews.
Visitation, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
