Carolyn Hudson Clark, 93, of Lawndale passed away Wednesday,
January 5, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Clark was born April 10, 1917 to the late Mr. and Mrs. D.P. Hudson in
Connelly Springs. She was a graduate of Appalachian State University, where
she earned a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. After completing her
degree, she spent 41 years teaching in the North Carolina public schools.
Most of her teaching career was spent teaching in the Cleveland County
School System. She also enjoyed reading, painting and playing bridge with
friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her husband
Manley Ira Clark; her beloved daughter Caroline (Carol) Louise Clark; sister
Virginia Hudson Dark; and brother, John Pinkney Hudson.
Mrs. Clark is survived by her faithful son-in-law, James Edward McCraw;
Grandson James Manley Ira McCraw, both of Lawndale; Grandson Alexander Clark
Ramsey of Wallis, Texas; niece Virginia (Ginna) Dark Pugh of Fayetteville;
nephew John Hudson of Durham; four great nieces and nephews; seven
great-great nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, January
8, 2010 at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Stamey Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Cecil Buff officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain
View Cemetery in Connelly Springs.
