Carolyn Lagle Hendricks, 84, of 315 Westfield Road, Shelby, NC died on Wednesday, March 9, 2011.  A native of Mocksville NC she was the daughter of the late Hugh Andrew Lagle and Jessie Holthouser Lagle.  She was also preceded in death by a sister, Doris Eloise Lingle; a brother, Hugh Andrew Lagle, Jr and a daughter-in-law Anna Vaughn Matthews.

Mrs. Hendricks attended Charlotte Memorial Hospital’s school of nursing where she graduated and worked in nursing for several years.  She was later employed by Clyde A. Short Co. where she was manager of customer relations and corporate secretary until her retirement in 1990.  She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer.

She is survived by her loving husband, J. Wade Hendricks, Jr.; a son, Charles Emmett Mathews III and wife Angela of Wilkesboro, NC; a daughter, Carol Anne Bradburn and husband Howard of Shelby, NC; a step-son John W. Hendricks III and wife Sally of Kings Mountain, NC; a step-daughter, Patricia Hendricks Rapp and husband Dave of Hilton Head, SC; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a sister Shirley Ann Lagle of Mocksville, NC; sister-in-law Glenna Lagle of Mocksville NC.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer on Friday, March 11, 2011 with the Rev. Dr. Valori Mulvey Sherer officiating.  Interment will be private.
