Grover -- Carolyn Patricia Black Godinez, 70, of 103 Persimmon Drive Apt. F, passed away on Sunday, December 5th, 2021, at Atrium Health Cleveland.

Born in Shelby, she was the daughter of the late Ben Richard Black and Ruthie Moore Black. Mrs. Godinez worked in textiles.

Mrs. Godinez is survived by three sons, Steve Cogdell Jr. (Lynn), Dwayne Cogdell, and Donnie Cogdell (Jaime); two sisters, Louise Lovelace and Julie Camp; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 8th, 2021, from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 9th, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary Chapel . Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Rick Perry, Ed Cogdell, PeeWee Cogdell, Chance Cogdell, Donnie Cogdell Jr., and Dawson Warlick will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at the home of her son, Steve Cogdell, 244 Wendy Drive, Blacksburg, SC.
