Carolyn Rebecca Hord Harris, age 94, resident of Brentwood, TN formerly of Kings Mountain, NC died September 5, 2013 at Somerfield Health Center, Brentwood, TN.  She was born in Kings Mountain, NC to the late Jacob George Van Buren Hord, MD and Carrie White Hord.  She was also preceded in death by her  husband of 53 years, James Abner Harris; brother, James Edwin Hord; half-brothers, Otto Leon Hord and Jacob George Hord, Jr.; sisters, Margaret Hord Anthony, Ruth Hord Craft, Mary Francis Hord Cothran, and Maude Eunice Hord.  She was a member of Boyce Memorial ARP Church, Kings Mtn.  Mrs. Harris was a Teacher’s Assistant and a homemaker. 

SURVIVORS: Sons: Jacob George Harris and wife Sondra Gilbert Harris,  Nashville, TN

James Wallace Harris and wife Carolyn Pruitt Harris, Canton, GA

6 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.

FUNERAL SERVICE:  Boyce Memorial ARP Church, Thursday, September 12, 2013      11:00 A.M.    Dr. Doug Petersen, officiating.

VISITATION: 10:00 – 10:50 A.M. Thursday, September 12, 2013 prior to the service in the parlor at Boyce Memorial ARP Church.

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
