Carrie H. Philbeck
 Mrs. Carrie H. Philbeck, 81, of Shelby, passed away at White Oak Manor of Shelby on Wednesday, June 27, 2012.

A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Lemuel Hoyle & Letha Swink Hoyle and was

also preceded in death by her husband, Ben Philbeck;  brothers, Ernest Hoyle & Billy Hoyle and a sister,

Joann Wease.

 

 She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church where she was a past leader of the church singles group and

 worked with missions.  She loved flowers and being in the outdoors.  She was a retired cafeteria manager with

 the Cleveland County School System.  She loved children and spent many years working in the church nursery.  She

 is survived by a daughter, Robin Tillotson & husband, Phillip of  Lawrenceville, GA; a son, Raymond Philbeck

and wife, Joyce of Aurora, NC; a close friend for 15 years, Jack Ware of Shelby; grandchildren, Paige Betts and

husband, Andrew; John Tillotson and Allison Leigh;  Evan Philbeck & Tiffany Philbeck; 2 sisters, Martha Jones &

Hazel Putnam & husband, Harris of Shelby as well as  numerous nieces and nephews.   


The family would like to extend special thanks to all the staff at White Oak Manor of Shelby and Hospice of

Cleveland County.                                                      

 

 Visitation:   The family will receive friends Saturday, June 30th  7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at

                     Cleveland Funeral Services & Crematory and other times at the home

 

 

 Funeral:  Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Sunday, July 1st at 4:00 p.m.           

 Officiating: Rev. Andy Oliver  &  Dr. Jim Richardson

 

 Burial: Private
