| Catherine Davis Nolen, 84, passed away on July 6, 2011 at home. She was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Daisey Dixon Davis. She is also preceded in death by her husband, William Anderson Nolen; brothers, J.D. Davis, Forrest Hubert David and Horace Davis; and sisters, Pauline Bridges, Viola Hawkins, Ethel Mae Hollifield and Lucille Patterson.
Mrs. Nolen is survived by her son, Michael Nolen of Polkville; two brothers, Clifford Davis of Shelby and Laudice Davis of Lattimore; four sisters, Louise Jones of Forest City, Etta Marie Greene of Forest City, Valrie Mauney of Lincolnton, Irene Brown of Spartanburg, SC; and one grandchild, Kelly Bowen.
A graveside service celebrating the life of Mrs. Nolen will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby.
