Mrs. Catherine Irene Deal Lowman, 98, formerly of Airport
Road, Shelby passed away Saturday at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain.
Born in Burke County, she was a daughter of the late Sydney Deal and Bealie
Shuford Deal. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Shelby and
was a former employee of Patterson's Florist and Greenhouses.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ross
Lowman; sons, Bill Lowman and Bob Lowman and wife Janie; brothers, Willie
Deal, Ernest Shuford and Charles Deal; sisters, Brenee Yancey, Cleo Church,
Ruth Cook and Anna Goins and granddaughter, Lela Jane Lowman.
Mrs. Lowman is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Hilda
Lowman of Ellenboro, Ruffus and Sally Lowman of Newberry, SC, Roy and Bertha
Jane Lowman of Shelby ; daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Ken
Strickland and Cathi and Dennis Johnson all of Shelby; grandchildren, Bob
Lowman Jr., Angie Callahan, Sandi Martini, Davy Lowman, Candice Walsh,
Kelley Stocker, Brian Strickland and Anissa Johnson and great grandchildren,
Melissa, Avery, Malia, Grant, Jessica, Rachel, Tyler, Emma, Eli, Niki,
Belle, Mandy, Aiden and Kyle.
The funeral will be 3:00 pm Tuesday at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel in
Fallston with Rev. Bob Lowman Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at
Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until
3:00 pm prior to the service on Tuesday.
