Smyrna -- Catherine McDaniel Walker, 92, of Smyrna, passed away on Wednesday, September 14th, 2022, at Blue Ridge In Brookview Healthcare Center.

Born in Gaffney, SC, she was the widow of Joseph Graceon Walker Sr. and the daughter of Lonnie Guy McDaniel and Lydia Sapoch McDaniel. Mrs. Walker formerly worked in textiles and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Walker are two sons, Mickey Walker of Blacksburg, Joseph Walker and wife, Pamala, of Smyrna, and her son-in-law, Gary Phillips of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Michael Walker, Brandy McBee, Jennifer Walker, April Walker, and Matthew Walker, and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her daughter, Dr. Rachel Phillips, and her son, Onnie Manson Walker.

Graveside services will be Friday, September 16, 2022 at 4:00 pm at Clingman Memorial Gardens, 1219 East Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
