Catherine Williams Spurling, of W. Zion Church Road, Shelby, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Atrium Health - Cleveland, Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County on February 13, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Williams and Erie Barnette Williams.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Junior Spurling; one son, Ronnie Spurling (Shelia); two brothers, Leon Williams and Gene Williams and four sisters, Naomi Jones, Linda Morrison, Rose Grantt and Ellie Goins.

Survivors include her four sons, Jerry (Vickie) Spurling, Randy (Debra) Spurling, Jeffery Spurling, and Steve Spurling all of Shelby, one daughter, Wanda Spurling of Chesnee, SC, thirteen grandchildren, Brian Spurling, Kiley (Aaron) Shoup, Chad (Arraine) Spurling, Julie Spurling, Leslie (Todd) Duncan, Rodney Spurling, Anthony Spurling, Andy (Michelle) Spurling, Travis (Krystal) Spurling, Tim (Samantha) Davis, Paige (Josh) Swafford, Sabrina "Tristen" Spurling, and Jacob Spurling; and twenty five great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Homer Tessneer officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
