Cavell McKinney Wilder

Cavell McKinney Wilder, age 96 died Friday, December 5, 2014 at her home. Born in Rutherford County on November 10, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Lamos Winfred and Lela Etta Price McKinney. She graduated from the Asheville Normal Teachers College and took some classes at UNC-Chapel Hill where she met her husband of 56 years, William Bryant Wilder, who died in 2004. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was a member of the Love Sunday School Class, and was active in the WMU. She taught third and fourth grades, for 38 years at the old Morgan School and James Love School. After she retired, she and her husband traveled all over the world. 

Cavell is survived by a son, Bryant Wilder Jr. of Austin TX; a daughter, Glenda Cox and husband Alan of Hollis;  a sister, Helen Byers and husband D. E. Byers of Ellenboro; two grandsons, Jason Willis and John Willis.

Graveside service will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 11:00 am at Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service.
