CCC Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society Inducts New Members
The Cleveland Community College chapter of Gamma Beta Phi National Honor Society recently held an induction ceremony on Friday, November 19, 2010, in the Mildred H. Keeter Auditorium on the CCC campus. Gamma Beta Phi President, Ms. Tonya Malone, welcomed family friends to the ceremony and also served as speaker for the event. Installation of new members was conducted by Alumni Representative Ron Teague. The CCC Gamma Beta Phi society holds designation as an Exemplary Chapter by the National Gamma Beta Phi Society. Only four chapters out of the ninety-two active Phi Gamma Beta chapters in the United States hold this designation. The CCC Gamma Beta Phi is active with the Children’s Homes of Cleveland County by raising money and providing a Christmas party complete with donated gifts for children living in the home. Other community activities include March of Dimes, Children’s Miracle Network, Relay-for-Life, Heifer International and working with residents at the J. Iverson Riddle Center. Qualifications for Gamma Beta Phi membership include a Grade Point Average of at least 3.5, completion of at least 15 semester credit hours, and a commitment to participate in service to the college and the community.
