Cecil Clark
Cecil Clark, age 71, of Forest City, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at his residence.
Born September 4, 1944 in Cleveland County, he was a son to the late J.C. Clark and Vernie Clark Horton. Cecil worked for Cone Mills-Cliffside Plant for forty-one years until retirement. He also worked for Lowes for several years and for Walker Construction. He was a longtime and active member of the First Baptist Church of Henrietta where he served as a chairman of the deacons and served on various committees. He was also a member of the Rutherford County Cattleman's Association. He enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, camping and was known for his ability to BBQ. He especially loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by step-father, Edward Horton; three brothers, Clyde, Bob and James Clark.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-three years, Judy Wheeler Clark; daughter, Cynthia Clark Robbins and husband, George of Forest City; son, David Clark also of Forest City; three sisters, Faye Lovelace and husband, T.C. of Hollis, Helen Clark of Polkville and Gail Alfonso and husband, Augustus of Pittsburgh, California; one brother, Tommy Clark and wife, Libby of Shelby; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Clark of Polkville. He is also survived by three grandsons, Colton Robbins, Landon Clark and wife, Ashley, Brandon Rothrock and wife, Haley and a special niece Danna Clark.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Henrietta with Rev. Mike Cash, Rev. Pete Bridges and Rev. John Godfrey officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
