Cella Price Leach, 90, of Hick’s Grove Road, Mooresboro, died on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Cherokee County, South Carolina, she was born on Saturday, May 19, 1923, a daughter of the late Crowder and Sally Thrift Price. She was a homemaker and member of Hicks Grove Baptist Church. She loved to cook, sew and crotchet.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Artice Leach. She is survived by her sons, Willard Leach and wife Joann of Mooresboro and Steve Leach and wife Gail of Cliffside; three daughters, Shirley Deviney and husband Tom of Forest City, Carolyn McDaniel and companion James of Shiloh, and Dawn Parris and husband Robin of Mooresboro; twelve grandchildren, including one special gransons, Jamie McDaniel who she raised in the home; sixteen great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; her caregiver and special friend, Paulette Burleson.
A Celebration of Mrs. Leach’s Life will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Hick’s Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Don McEntire and Rev. Ad Hopper officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held in the sanctuary one hour prior to the service.
