Cherryville - Mr. Chalmer Elbert Couch, 82, of 119 North Shore Dr. passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Charles George VA Hospital in Asheville.
Mr. Couch was born in Decatur, TN on may 5, 1932 a son of the late John and Mattie Walden Couch. He was of the Baptist faith and served his country as a Corporal in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Flonnie Mae Gunter Couch.
Survivor include three sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce & Margaret Couch of Athens, TN; Scott and Amanda Couch of Shelby, NC and Chris and Lisa Couch of Cherryville; one sister, Imagene Benson; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:15PM on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
A Graveside service will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain with Rev. Kyeth Lindsay officiating.
Burial will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Cherryville American Legion Post 100 Honor Guard.
