Charles Alexander McAlister age 54, died Monday, December 1, 2014 at Carolina’s Medical Center in Charlotte. Born on April 8, 1960 in Cleveland County, he was the son of Frances Ledford McAlister and the late Henry Carrol McAlister. Chuck attended Lafayette Street United Methodist Church. He worked for Gaston Emergency Medical Service (GEMS) for the last 7 years. He was a member of Upper Cleveland County and Shelby Rescue. Chuck enjoyed NASCAR and woodworking; he enjoyed working with his hands. In addition to his father, Chuck is preceded in death by a daughter, Casey McAlister.

In addition to his mother, Chuck is survived by a fiancée Cheryl Weeks of Shelby; two sons, Tyler McAlister of El Paso TX, and Jeramie Proctor and wife Heather of Colorado Springs; a daughter, Robin DuJardin of Kings Mountain; a sister, Debbie McAlister Hayward and husband John of Mayview MO; and two grandchildren, Kavan Proctor and Rylee Proctor.

Celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 11:00am at Lafayette Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Arthur Holland, Rev. Jeff Hicks, Chaplain Brad Hall, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
