Charles David Holdsclaw, 58, of 112 Willow Tree Lane, Mt. Holly, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center following complications of kidney surgery.
Charlie graduated from Mt. Holly High School, NC State University and attended the masters program at UNC-Charlotte. He retired from Clariant Corporation and then worked several seasons for H&R Block. He also assisted Nancy with the management of her nurse case management company. Charlie loved NASCAR racing and was a Dale Jr. fan. He was also an advocate for the
welfare of animals.
Charlie was preceded in death by parents Jasper and Sarah Holdsclaw, his "other" parents, Dick and Matt Hoyle and sister, Louise Massey.
He is survived by wife Nancy Hoyle Holdsclaw, his three "four-legged kids" Roxie, Milton and Kaylee as well as one sister, Ann Johnson and husband, Paul; two brothers, Rick Holdsclaw and wife, Judy and Jerry Holdsclaw and wife, Lillie and faithful friends Ivonnelly and Jerry Linder.
Services will be private
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tri County Animal Rescue, Inc., PO Box 483, Alexis, NC 28006.
