Charles Donald "Don" Day, 89, of 916 Cleveland Avenue, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain.

Born in Nantahala, NC, he was the husband of Minnie Catherine Blanton Day for 67 years and was the son of the late Will Day and Ora Morgan Day. He retired from Foote Minerals and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Blacksburg. He was also a former member of Eastside Baptist Church where he formerly served as a deacon. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking and loved to watch old black and white westerns.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Anthony Day (Kim) of Jacksonville, NC; a daughter, Vickie Alexander (Joey) of Blacksburg; a daughter-in-law, Dianne Day of Polkville, NC; a sister, Grace Gregory of Nantahala, NC; eight grandchildren, Christol Cole, Ashley Earls, Sara Yeargin (Stanley), Anna Cobb (Will), Jash Day (Jennifer), Jason Day (Gena), Renea Bowen (Victor) and Grayson Day; thirteen great-grandchildren; a special niece, Teresa Ellis and numerous other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Neal Day, Samuel Day and Charles Day and twelve brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Hopewell Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM at the Church with Reverend Virgil Hampton officiating. Interment will be in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.
