Charles "Eddie" Edward Murphy, 76, of 214 Gantt Road, Vale, passed away
Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

Born in Gaston County, on September 6, 1940, to the late Charles "C.J."
Jenkins Murphy and Fannie Trimner Murphy. He was a retired truck driver for
Yellow Freight and was a member of David's Chapel United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Sherry Helms Murphy; two
sons, Chuck Murphy and wife Dana and Bou Murphy and wife Shannon all of
Myrtle Beach, SC; two daughters, Chris Senn and Gary Anderson of Waterloo,
SC and Heather Murphy of the home; seven grandchildren, Taffy Reid, Trey
Murphy, Caleb Lackey, C.J. Murphy, Jordan Murphy, Allie Sain and Jonny Sain;
and three great grandchildren, Kayla Gillian, Kyndell Reid and Sophia
Lackey.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Wednesday at
Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston.

The funeral service will be held 4:00 PM, Wednesday at Stamey-Tysinger
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Hobson officiating.
