Charles Edgar Lovelace age 80, died Monday, November 21, 2016 at Peak Resources in Cherryville. Born in Cleveland County on July 20, 1936, he was the son of the late David Sankey and Minnie Rosalee Causby Lovelace. Charles was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church. He retired from Celanese after many years of service. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Joann Hoyle Lovelace; two sisters, Viola Myers and Edeline Hamrick.

Charles is survived by two sons, Richard Lovelace and wife Connie of Grover and Larry Lovelace and wife Rita of Cherryville; two brothers James Lovelace and wife Pat of Shelby and Fred Lovelace and Libby of Shelby; three sisters, Ruth Guiton of Shelby, Bertha Truelove of Shelby, and Julie Oliver of Shelby; four grandchildren, Joshua Lovelace Brad Lovelace, Steven Costner and Chris Hale; and great grandchildren, Cody Hale and Lacey Costner.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 2:00pm at Buffalo Baptist Church with Rev. Mackie Turner Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory from 5:00pm until 6:30 pm.
