| Charles Edwin “Charlie” Staton, age 55 died Saturday May 24, 2014 at his home. Born in San Diego California on November 19, 1958, he was the son of John Edwin and Faith Constance Collins Staton. Charlie was a driver for Waste Management for 18 years. He was a cowboy at heart and put his family first. Charlie enjoyed working the land and working with animals. He enjoyed listening to music and going to concerts. Charlie was a hardworking, good hearted man.
In addition to his parents, Charlie is survived by his wife of 13 years, Connie Ackley Staton; a son, Adam Staton of Sebastian Florida; step son, Roy Daman and wife Danielle of Gastonia; a step daughter, Karen Daman of Opelika Alabama; three sisters, Charlotte Gill and husband Dmitri of Buffalo NY, Mary Gloege and husband Donald of Boiling Springs, and Connie Quigley and husband Mike of Grants Pass Oregon; two grandchildren, Natalie Daman and Victoria Daman; and nieces and nephews, Amber Lawson, Nicole Haynes, Brandon Gill, Elizabeth Gloege, Faith Lawson, and Jason Haynes
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday May 28, 2014 in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Elizabeth Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00pm an hour before the service at the funeral home.
