Mr. Charles Edwin Hendrick, 81, of Shelby, NC, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2010. Services were held at Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hendrick served our country in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, G.P. and Bertie Hamrick Hendrick; 6 brothers, Herman, Bill, George, Max, Henry, and Jack Hendrick; and 5 sisters, Pauline Earl, Louise Troutman, Geneva Wright, Agnes Turbeville, and Martha Champion.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Dorothy Hamrick Hendrick of the home; 3 daughters, Jane Szymborski and husband Paul, Sandy Griffin and husband Walk, and Patti Thompson and husband John, all of Shelby; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Pat Darty and husband Junior.
