Charles Raymond Ward, 75, of Wards Gap Rd. in Casar, passed away Thursday,
December 11, 2014, at Hospice at Wendover.
Born March 14, 1939 in Cleveland, Georgia, he was a son of the late Charlie
Lee O. Ward and Ida Mae Pitchford Ward. He was retired from Kemet and was a
member of Corinth Baptist Church in Casar. He loved his family and enjoyed
playing and singing Southern Gospel Music.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret
Lail Ward, granddaughter, Winter Dawn Brackett, brothers, Hoyt Ward, Milton
"Dude" Ward, Ernest "Red" Ward; sisters, Eugene Ward, Dolly Mae Ward, Sally
Jane Ward, and Eulene Saxton; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earlie
Morning Lail and Maudie Mazell Lail.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law; Sharon & Donavan Brackett
and Melissa & Glenn D. Kerstetter all of Casar; two sisters, Ruby Cleveland
and Margie Hamrick both of Georgia and five grandchildren, DJ Brackett of
Cullowhee, Charis Kerstetter, Moriah Kerstetter, Hannah Kerstetter, and Noah
Kerstetter all of Casar; sister-in-law, Kathy Lail-Owens and David of Casar;
brothers-in-law, Ernest Lail and Arlene, Robert Lail and Nadine, Ronnie Lail
and Jackie, all of Casar, and Dennis Lail of Union Mills; a special friend,
Della Williams, and many other precious friends.
Visitation will be Saturday from 6-8pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home &
Cremation Center.
The funeral service will be Sunday at 2pm at Corinth Baptist Church in Casar
with Revs. Glenn D. Kerstetter and Robert Goins officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
