Charles Robert Lowery, age 81, of Walker Drive, Forest City, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Fair Haven Home in Forest City.

Charles was born Wednesday, June 12, 1940 in Rutherford County to the late Paul Stanley Lowery and Lona Olema Toms Lowery. He proudly served the Rutherford County Sheriff's Department as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for over thirty-three years and worked at Broyhill Industries for eighteen years. Charles was a member of Plainview Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of forty-one years, Hazel Jane Lowery and a brother, Johnny William Lowery.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Carolyn Pritchard (Troy) and son, Barry C. Lowery both of Forest City; brothers, Paul Ray Lowery (Glenda) of Mooresboro and Joe Dean Lowery (Joyce) of Caroleen; three grandchildren, Dakota Charles Lower, Alyx Jane Lowery, Aaron Weaver and two great-grandchildren, Gunner Weaver and Ava Weaver. He is also survived by his longtime friends, Marlon White of Ellenboro and Barbara Mull of Bostic.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend David Upton and Mr. Clyde Lovelace officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
