Charlotte Johnston “Lulu” Hatfield, age 52, of Mooresboro, NC, died Friday, August 8, 2014 at her residence.
 
     Born November 2, 1961 in Logan County, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late David Rufus Johnston, Sr. and Freda Mae Foust Johnston.  She was a homemaker and worked for various fast food restaurants and cleaning services.  She was a member of the Faith Praise and Worship Center of Forest City.  Charlotte enjoyed riding horses, needlework crafts and working on cars.
 
      Survivors include her husband, Lionel W. Hatfield; son David Kent Sheppard of Pinhook, Virginia; two daughters, Barbara Ellen Cole and husband, David and Margie Mae Sheppard all of Forest City; four brothers, David Rufus Johnston, Jr. of Elk Creek, West Virginia, Pletz Oscar Johnston of Sandy Mush, James Hale Johnston of Bruno, West Virginia and Roy Rodger Johnston of Henrietta; two sisters, Virgie Anna Stanley of Sandy Mush Violet Campbell of Henrietta. She is also survived by nine grandchildren.
 
     A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at the Faith Praise and Worship Center with Reverend Mark Lattimore officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
