Mr. Chester “Sid” White, 83, of 5006 Pecan Drive, Shelby, NC, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2010. Services were held at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery.
Mr. White was preceded in death by his wife, Ettress Ledbetter White; his parents, John White and Mattie Guffrey Powell; 1 son, Kenneth White; 3 sisters, Mary Denton, Essie Pruiett, and Florence White; and 4 brothers, Alton White, Charlie, Richard, and Roland Powell.
He is survived by 5 sons, Jimmy White and wife Anita, and Morris White, all of Shelby, David White and fiancé Tiffany of Kings Mountain, Charles White and wife Sandra of Gaffney, and Shannon White of the home; 5 daughters, Imogene Glenn, Nancy Kennedy and husband Ron, Carolyn White, and Cathy White, all of Shelby, and Annette Sarratt and husband Ronnie of Cliffside; 19 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
