Christian Women’s Club moves to LeGrand Center
The Shelby Christian Women’s Club will have An Artful Autumn Luncheon at LeGrand Center on September 20 at 11:30 a.m. The monthly luncheon meeting has met continuously for over three decades meeting at various dining venues. Now the planning team, chaired by Helen Gilliatt and including Merredith Martin, Libbey Morris, Sallie Suttle, Carla Beam, Merlyn Blanton, Nancy Green, and Becky Powell, will present and exciting new beginning. Mrs. Gilliatt said, “We are thrilled to be going to LeGrand Center. It is so spacious and modern, and we are proud to start again there. We hope our club will grow quickly with women of all ages coming from far and wide to see the LeGrand Center and to enjoy our interesting programs.”
Featured on the September program will be Buffalo Creek Gallery with a sampling of their products which will be for sale at the luncheon by members of the gallery. The popular local musical artist Jodi Warren will sing. Frances Workman, a builder and real estate broker from Rock Hill, S.C. will tell her story with an inspiring talk on “How to build your future.”
Christian Women’s Club is an international, non-denominational organization sponsored by Stonecroft Ministries. Neighborhood Bible classes, Pray and Play for young children and their mothers, festivals on military bases for dependant wives, and a vibrant prayer fellowship are important facets of Stonecroft which the Shelby club plans to build. There are no memberships or dues, and we do not discuss our religious affiliation.
There is a sincere welcome for every woman to come to the luncheon. To make a reservation call Lib Grayson at 704-482-1627 by Tuesday, September 18. The cost for the meal is $15.00. Cancellations are necessary by Wednesday, September 19.
