Christopher “Chris” Thomas Rogers
 Christopher “Chris” Thomas Rogers, 37, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 29, 2012 surrounded by his loving family at Kings Mountain Hospice House.  A native of Richmond County, Georgia he was the son of Walter Drew Rogers and Caliza Rogers Black.  Chris was an active member of Landmark Baptist Church.  He enjoyed weightlifting, was a devout Georgia Bulldogs fan, and liked vacationing at the beach.  Being a practical joker he loved to make people laugh.  Chris was a loving husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother and friend.  He had an exceptional love for his “Grandma Dot”.

Chris is survived by his loving wife of ten years Karen Rogers; two sons, Brandon and Anthony Rogers; daughter, Morgan Rogers; father, Wally Rogers and wife Renee of Grayson, Ga; mother Caliza Black and husband Nathan of Shelby; grandmother, Dorothy B. Rogers or North Augusta, Ga; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Shirley and Jerry Bridges of Shelby; brothers, Carl Rogers, Jeffrey Rogers and wife Dena, all of Shelby; sisters, April Rogers of Shelby and Tonya Gregory of Beech Island, SC; step-brother, J.R. Black of Waynesboro, GA; step-sister, April Black of Cherryville; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all doctors, nurses, caretakers, and Kings Mountain Hospice House for their loving care and support.

A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00pm on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Landmark Baptist Church.  The Rev. Allen Davis will be officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 – 4:00pm prior to the service at the church.  At other times the family will be at the home of Caliza and Nathan Black in Shelby.
