Claude Jasper “Tripp” Mabry, 63, of Shelby, NC died on Monday, Dec 1st, 2014. Born March 22, 1951, he was the son of the late Claude Jasper Mabry, Jr (“Jack”) and Mary Newton Mabry and brother of the late Hanson Mabry Towery and step-brother of late Kathy R. Burgin and Peggy R. Porter.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Susan Hague Mabry, their three daughters Mary Jennifer, Jillian Hague, and Hanson Louise Mabry; his second mother Katherine Quinn Mabry, stepbrother David W. Royster and wife Sally, stepsister Lynn R. Roach and husband Tommy. He is also survived by extended Hague, Legrand, Mabry, Newton, and Royster in-laws, out-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Tripp graduated from Shelby High School. He attended East Carolina University and Western Carolina University where he met his wife, Susan, and made lasting friends in the Kappa Alpha fraternity. Tripp was former owner of Mabry Office Equipment. He was a lifelong member of Central United Methodist church, where he had served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and various committees. He was a member of Grace Emmaus Community. Tripp was a dedicated member of the Shelby Rotary Club, where he was honored with the Paul Harris Fellow award.
Tripp lived his life to the fullest, enjoying nothing more than spending time with his family and friends, weekends in Blowing Rock, NC and his “daughter”, dog Izzie!
The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 5th 2014, at 3:00pm at Central United Methodist Church in Shelby with Rev. Joe Collins and Rev. Linda Kelly officiating. The family will receive friends after the service, in the fellowship hall.
The family would like to thank all of his care providers, especially those at Fresenius Medical Care, who he considered part of his family, too.
