Cleveland County Outdoors August 12th Edition
 KOSA

The Kosa retirees fished Lake Wylie last week and like most would have bet, the weights were better than what was had on Lake Hickory the week before. John Black and Roger McNeilly picked up the win with 11.55. Tony Black and Ned Blanton had 10.40 and claimed second. James Osborne and Ray Hembree settled in third with 9.35. Big bass of the day was a 3.50 largemouth brought in by Black and McNeilly. This week, the oldtimers will be on Lake Norman and again, you can expect weights to be down in the single digits.

MOSS

Only ten boats braved the severe storms that hit last Thursday and made it to the weekly bass tournament on Moss Lake. Johnny and Reggis Guffey got the win with 3.14, they also had big fish with a 2.16 largemouth. Second went to Matt Arey and Les Dulin with 3.0. And as Arnold said, “that was it”.  If what hit the lake area was anything like what hit uptown Shelby,  it was not safe to be on the water. As I leaned up against a building for shelter I thought about my buddies that might be on the lake. I was uptown for the Alive After 5 and man I haven’t seen rain, thunder and lightening like that in a long, long time.
