Cleveland County Outdoors August 5th Edition
 KOSA

The Kosa retirees fished Lake Hickory last week, which was the backside of a very down week catching-wise up there. Tom Mayhew picked up the win with 8.85. Second place went to John Black and Roger McNeilly with 6.40. Third place went to Tommy Wess and James Haynes with 5.50. Wess and Haynes also had big bass of the day with a 3.50 largemouth. This week, the retirees are on Lake Wylie. Bets are... that it will take more than it did on Hickory last week. Tune back in to see how it shakes down.

Moss

The weekly bass tournaments on Moss Lake had been having very low turnouts the past few weeks. Last week was some better but still not really typical. Seventeen boats fished last week, with Brian and Cody Hoyle getting the win with 12.42. Ronnie Humphries had 4,42 and was second. Mitch Gardner and Stacy Jones had 3.25 and took third, while Matt Arey and Les Dulin settled in in fourth with 2.30. Rounding out the top five was Arnold Ledford and Brent Shytle with 2.09. Big bass of the evening was a 4.09 brought in by the winning team of Hoyle and Hoyle.

Club News

The Cleveland County Bass Club is a little over halfway in their season and are looking at fishing Lake Hickory later in August. The top ten have plenty of new names up top as it has been a very mixed up year. Going into the Hickory event the top ten are James Osborne, Roger Beaver, Tyler Hensley, Ray Hembree, Tom Mayhew, Larry Melton, Chuck Camp, John Presnell/Ronnie Humphries (tie), and Roger Hamrick.

The Bass Casters just started their new year and will resume on Lake Wylie for another all nighter. Starting time is 12 midnight til 9 am and in August, is there any other time to fish? After a very dissappointing outting on Lake Hickory last month, look for weights to be much better on Wylie.
