Cleveland County Outdoors July 22nd Edition
 KOSA

The Kosa retirees fished Lake Wylie last week with James Osborne and Ray Hembree picking up the win. The pair had 12.15. Close behind in second was David O’Shields and Doug Sparrow with 11.50. Mack Wyatt and Johnny Christainberry rounded out the top three with 9.60.  Big bass was a 4.0 largemouth brought in by Sparrow and O’Shields. This week, the retirees fish Lake Norman, from 6am til 12 noon.

The turnout last week, one can only assume, could be a direct reflection on the heat of late. Only ten boats fished. Brian and Cody Hoyle had 9.15 and captured the win. Matt Fraser and Scott Yarboro were second with 5.06. Arnold Ledford and Brent Shytle took third with 3.74. Big bass was a 3.82 largemouth, brought in by Fraser and Yarboro. Arnold says fishing is tough, the water is very warm and the heat, well I think we all know how bad it’s been. “I guess it’s just too hot for some to come out”, says Ledford.

Club News

The Cleveland County Bass Club and the Bass Casters will both see club tournament action this weekend. The CCBC will be on Lake Norman, while the Bass Casters will visit Lake Hickory. Both, however,  will be fishing at night. Lake Norman is always a 10-15 pound (to win) lake just about any time of the year and Lake Hickory has been on fire according to my reports, taking well into the upper teens to win. Check back in next week to see how things go.
