Cleveland County Outdoors Oct. 14th Edition
 Special Olympics Benefit

This year marks the 4th year for the Special Olympics/North Shelby School benefit bass tournament. As with the previous event’s it will be held on Lake Norman and will be on November 6, taking out of and weighing in at Pinnacle Landing.

First place is $2,500 with payout to the top 20 and prizes galore. However, this tournament is limited to the first 150 boats and will surely fill up. Entry fee is $100 but the payout, both cash and prizes are well worth any angler’s time. Of all the annual events, the Special Olympics tournament is one of, if not the best run events around. Ricky Peace heads this event up along with Eaton Corporation and they strive to make it very worth while for the anglers and most importantly North Shelby School and Special Olympics.

I encourage all anglers reading this to go to the nearest tackle store and get entered in now before it fills up.

KOSA

The retirees of Kosa fished Lake Norman last week with very good catches. John Black and Roger McNeilly had 14.30 and got the win. Ray Hembree and James Osborne were second with 8.30. They also had big bass of the day with a 3.60 largemouth. Third went to Ronnie Humphries with 7.90. This week it is back to Lake Wylie and with predicted cloud and rain on tournament day, look for very good catches.

Moss

Nineteen boats fished the weekly Thursday night event on Moss Lake last week. Catches were very close but way down. Brian and Cody Hoyle had 3.99 and got the win, while close behind with 3.95 were Amos Shear and Hasker Stevenson. Reggie and Johnny Guffy had 3.63 and were third, with Mitch and Dustin  Gardner in fourth with 2.85. Rounding out the top five was Tommy Chapman with 2.35 and he also had big bass with that 2.35 largemouth. This Saturday is the fish - off for the weekly events and will run from 8am til 2 pm.
